Still Going

Still busy working away on the pre-build preparation.

Since the last update Sam and Evanna kindly brought me a replacement differential down from Scunthorpe I had purchased (whilst they were sort of passing, as you do with Scunthorpe). Extremely kind of them to do that - and on a preliminary clean it looks fracture free, and the right size. It is only an open diff, but the plan is to take the front section and innards from the broken LSD that I have and transplant them to this replacement. What could possibly go wrong?

Also the engine head is fully cleaned, painted and gaskets replaced. It looks good, but as this is the first engine I've ever done up I wonder whether it will:
  1. Start up ever again
  2. Continue to run when started up without turning into junk
  3. Not spray oil/coolant/petrol all over the kit car
  4. Retain the paint job
A bit early yet to worry unduly about most of these - I still have the block and injectors to finish yet. But I do like to get a head start on my worrying.
